Ultimate Materials, Tools and Instructions for a Double-Coat Epoxy Garage Floor
I did a lot of online homework before applying this product and I have to say it came out amazing. I ended up doing two coats with a 72 hr period between application and the floor turned out AWESOME! I'm glad I did two coats because after one, I could see some spots I missed or didn't apply enough paint. I have a 2 car garage 20' x 22' but there was enough for almost a 3 car garage. The total project cost about $350 in tools and materials. Adhere to the temperature guide, read all instructions and here are the best steps I found for application:

1) REMOVE ALL THINGS FROM THE GARAGE (this was the hardest step). I ended up moving things out of both garage bays after originally thinking I would do one half the garage then the next half but honestly it just doubles the time it will take to complete the job. Our house and porch were packed for about a week.
2) POWER WASH GARAGE FLOOR. I rented a gas powered washer NOT the smaller electric ones. The gas are more powerful.
[WAIT 24 HRS FOR FLOOR TO DRY]
3) FILL GARAGE CRACKS WITH CONCRETE PATCH. I not only filled the cracks but also the separation cracks that collect all the dirt. So I wanted a completely flat garage floor and filled everything. Each box fills about 1.5" by 10' - 12'. I used 4 boxes. The concrete patch is an epoxy. I used a medium sized piece of cardboard and mixed both part and A and B together entirely for each box. You only have about 20 minutes until the patch is too hard to place so move quick. I used a disposable puddy knife, mixed until it was all the same color and poured into cracks. THIS STUFF DRIES SUPER QUICK AND DRIES COMPLETELY HARD. Make sure to scrape up any drops immediately. The best way I found was to put some on your puddy knife and using the corner of the knife, drip the patch into the crack then scrape flat on top. I went about a foot at a time filling then flattening the top. Dries in 8 hours.
[8 HOURS LATER OR THE NEXT DAY]
3) WET THE FLOOR AND APPLY DEGREASER AND CLEANER. The degreaser and cleaner did miracles on both grass stains from the lawn mower and all the oil stains from my 1984 Blazer. I did half-bay at a time and scrubbed vigorously.
4) THOROUGHLY RINSE. Make sure all degreaser is removed. I made sure it all went down the drive into the drain but according to the packaging, the cleaner is time activated and safe after about 15 mins to wash away. Some did get into my grass and I saw no changes but obviously it can't be good.
5) WET GARAGE FLOOR AND USING A PLASTIC WATERING CAN MIX AND SPREAD CONCRETE ETCH. This package comes with its own etch. The floor must remain wet and they suggest doing a 10' x 10' piece at a time. You will literally see a brief little 'smoke' from the effects of the acid etch. Be careful on rinse. Use a lot of water before pushing out the garage but again I got some in the grass and it didn't appear to do anything.
6) APPLY TAPE. Tape the edges of the garage to easily paint edges and roll paint later.
[WAIT 24 HRS FOR CONCRETE TO DRY AGAIN BEFORE FINALLY PAINTING]
6) APPLY 1st COAT OF PAINT. At this point there should be no dust or dirt anywhere on the floor otherwise wash floor again, dry and proceed. The paint comes in 2 gallons (I believe part B) and 2 smaller cans Part A. Take the bigger gallon jugs, open, stick a paint stick in or mark a paint stick to the height of the paint in the gallon. Then mix both gallons together in a 5 gallon bucket to ensure that the paints will be the exact same color. After a couple minutes of mixing with a paint stick, pour paint back into gallon containers to the proper height. You now have two gallon containers of the exact same color paint. Add the epoxy part to one of the gallons, stir for about 5 minutes and then reference the temperature chart of the instructions. Usually you have to wait a few minutes before painting. Pour into paint pan on plastic drop cloth and use both paint brushes and rollers to apply. Move pretty quick because you only have an hour of pot life. Start with brushing the edges and then rolling. I ended up painting about a quarter of a garage bay at a time even though it said to do a 4' x 4' section. Keep a wet edge and keep moving. Be random with the roller to avoid streaks. *IF YOU ARE ONLY DOING A SINGLE COAT THROW PAINT CHIPS AS YOU GO AND MAKE SURE TO ADD THE ANTI-SLIP TO THE PAINT GALLON BEFORE STARTING
**THROWOUT OR WASH BRUSH BUT DON'T PUT IN THE REFRIGERATOR. EPOXY WILL RUIN FOOD.
[WAIT AND LET CURE FOR 72 HOURS. YOU CAN WALK ON IT WITHIN 12 HOURS]
7) PROCEED WITH SECOND COAT OF PAINT. This time add 1 package of anti-slip per gallon of paint. As you paint, throw the decorative paint chips. These provide a nice finish and cover any discrepancies in the paint.
WAIT 12 HOURS TO WALK ON IT, 24 HOURS TO MOVE MOST HEAVY THINGS BACK IN AND 72 HOURS FOR CARS. Remember to try not to be turning your wheel in the garage too much. It will eventually where on the floor.
8) Drink beer and bask in compliments from friends, neighbors and family.
