As most people who buy a water pick, I got this to improve my oral hygiene. Some of the complaints in the reviews talk about how incredibly powerful this device is - even painful. I paid close attention to the setting options. The preset options are strong, even the softest/lowest setting is pretty powerful. The most powerful really is almost like a pressure washer. Definitely unwieldy and painful on the gums. BUT . . . it has custom settings as well. The lowest of the custom settings is so soft it's useless. So that's where I started - I put it at that lowest custom setting, tried it, and bumped up one or two settings until it felt strong enough to be useful, but without being painful. I also always aim it into the sink and turn it on to make sure there's water in the tube and can check the pressure before putting it in my mouth. Then I turn it off, put it in my mouth (lips loosely closed and leaning over the sink), and then turn it on again. This keeps me from spraying all over the bathroom. I use warm (not hot) water as that is more comfortable in the mouth than using cold water. After each use, I take the water container off the main unit, open the fill end at the bottom and dump any leftover water. Another review mentioned seeing mold grow in the water compartment after after a few days. I avoid this by letting it air dry with both the top hole and the loading door open so there's airflow through it. I also turn on the unit (aimed into the sink) to empty the tube after I finish using it. I am not using this daily, but rather a couple times per week, so I want to be sure it's clean when I do use it. The charge lasts a good while. I charged it full when I first got it. I then used it 1-3 times per week for about a month before I decided to plug it in again. It still had charge, but there's no way to see exactly how much charge is left, so I decided I might as well plug it in for a bit. NOTE: You definitely want to put the little rubber cover over the charging port between charges to prevent water getting in that area during use. Overall, I'm quite happy with this. It came with three heads, including a tongue scraping head - which I have not yet tried. It's highly adjustable/customizable to achieve a productive, but still comfortable oral hygiene experience. I would recommend this product and would buy it again.
