I love this little thing so much after buying the first one that I bought two more. Christmas present for my daughter and Christmas present for my Mother!!! I had been hearing so much about essential oils and knew that I needed to do my research on this one!!! After at least getting up to page 19 of reviews, I decided to give it a try!!! Pleasantly surprised!!! I decided to get "get to know" the little egg before I added water to it!! It has tiny little feet on the bottom at the back. This is important to know!!!! Because when you push down to change modes on the egg you are actually pushing on those little back feet!!! It comes with a cup to measure the water and I've been using filtered. Not because it said to but because I just wanted to :) I ordered some oils and am stuck on the lavender for SLEEP!!! It's wonderful and I personally think I am getting excellent sleep thanks to this little machine. It sends out a little stream of cool, misty water. I set mine on my marble top night stand behind my fan so that it blows straight at me!! I'm a firm believer in if a little is good then more is better!!!! :) Here are the settings. When you first fill it up, put the oil in, and then put lid in place you will give the back end a little push (remember the feet!) Well....it's time for them to work!!! The first mode is ALL the lights going in sequence. If you come to a color that you would like for it to STAY on then give the back end a little push (This will be Push # TWO) You will now have the color of your choice STAYING on. But, if you don't want a color (and I don't) I give it that THIRD PUSH and Voile'.....No Light.....just pure scent streaming towards my face!!!! The other thing I like about this brand?!? It is the customer service and I've never even had to use them. But, I do see where they have someone from their company replying to some of the ones that had complaints offering them help and how to go about it. I know sometimes when items are being mass produced that you might get a lemon from time to time. But, I do feel that if I had of gotten a bad one that they would stand behind this CUTE LITTLE EGG!!!! Oh....and I got the black one. I bet the white one is really nice too!!! I think a little knob on top would be nice to help lift the lid off to fill with water. I'm going to attach one to mine and if my Mom and Daughter want one too....I can hook them up 8-)
