I purchased the Walkie talkies you use at an Open air festival with a range of three to four city blocks. When I received them I was somewhat disappointed as they are extremely light weight and pretty small and the packaging suggested they were for children. Regardless, I put the batteries in which gave them a bit more weight, set them all to the same channel and they worked amazingly well for our needs. We could easily communicate with team members several blocks away. They were clear and not distorted at all, definitely loud enough and able to increase/lower volume. You can hook up an earpiece though it takes a smaller plug-jack than the standard ear buds. They come with a small mini-usb charger which allows to charge three at once. It would have been great to charge all four at once. One of them did lose its charge earlier than expected so I recharged them that eve so they were ready for day two. Overall, I would purchase these again.
