I bought this after seeing the many positive reviews. My wife purchased a used car that we could tell was owned by a smoker. The interior was cleaned the best they could by the dealership and appeared clean. Instead of using a gallon of febreeze or other items that would mask the scent, I thought I would give this a try. I first tried it on my truck first. My truck wasn't bad but it did have some residual smell left over from my dog and fast food containers. I simply parked in the driveway, set the timer for 30 minutes, closed the windows and sat the unit on the middle console. After plugging it in I could see the light was on. I opened it up really quick and could tell it was working. About 20 minutes into the treatment I turned on the truck with the AC on recirculate so I could get the ozone into the ac system. At the end of the 30 minutes the unit turned off and I rolled down the windows to let it air out for a few. After that I took it for a ride around the block to air it out more. The ozone is not a bad smell, but it does smell like a bleach/chlorine mix. I let it sit overnight in the garage with the windows closed to see how it would be in the morning. The next morning I went out and I could smell a little ozone left, but it went away after starting the AC. The truck smelled like nothing was in it. No smell from the vents, no food smell, no fruity overpowering masking smell. Just the smell of cleanliness. Now time to do my wifes car. I did the same steps and the results were smiliar. No smoke smell at all. She even scratched the headlining to see if she could get some smell to come out without luck. This product does what it advertises and is easy to use. The cord is short but that is about it. Now when I see detailing shops offer $120 odor removal I just laugh. I plan to use this indoor room at a time but I need to make sure no pets are around when it happens.
