Glad to have been eligible for once in my life to acquire an Amex card as in my younger years, I been reckless with credit (over credit limit, late payments, debt collection calls, etc), but after becoming more mature and responsible with credit, and converting my Amazon account over to a business account for the business perks when I began selling a few items, I kept seeing the American Express Amazon Card ads, and when I saw the offer for the $150 giftcard, I decided what the hell, may as try and I assumed 95% chance i'd likely see that I am declined as I always knew Amex always had some of the strictest credit score requirements to be eligible for one of their cards. Anyways, lo and behold, Approved! I was floored and excited. Also the Amazon gift card immediately deposited into my account and even though I hadn't received the physical card yet, I was able to immediately after approval to create my America Express online account and start spending with the card on Amazon as Amazon had automatically added the card to my account. So I am very happy with this card, 5% cash back for purchases on Amazon is really great! However for non-Amazon purchases, imo, a credit card with Discover is the way to go for their higher % cash back rewards for non-amazon purchases (i.e. groceries, gas, everyday purchases anywhere from 2% to 5%) and mix that with their promotional cash back bonus match program (essentially makes the cash back rewards 4%-10%), they can't be beat, not even by reward cards with annual fees. But when it comes to Amazon (or Wholefoods), the American Express business card by Amazon is the way to go!
