This rice cooker has serve me well for nearly 8 years. I used it for mainly white rice, brown rice, and Zatarain's rice mix. As long as I followed the instructions by using the included plastic cup, the rice away come out perfectly. For every cup of rice I am making, I filled the water up to the water line indicator and that's it. This will not perform as well as the more expensive rice cooker brand such as Tiger or Zojirushi, but it's also a fraction of the cost. The only thing you need to look out for is that, once the rice finished cooking, you may want to turn off the cooker. If you let it keep warm for a prolong period of time, it will dry out the rice and burn the bottom of the rice. This is because it doesn't have "Fuzzy-logic" function that the more expensive rice cooker have which allow you to leave the rice warm for hours. I only cook my rice when I am about to eat it, because it only take about 20 minute to cook it. If I need to cook it in advance or so, I normally just set the delay timer (which allow you to set a delay by the hour).
