I deliberately ordered a size up from my usual size as I wanted all cotton. Cotton shrinks...and so by ordering a size up, the underwear were a tad large until washed. Once washed, they fit like my normal size fit when they were new. So that proves that they will shrink down a size if 100% cotton. I ordered both Hanes and Fruit of the Loom. I believe both are very good brands. I ordered both brands as I had never tried the Fruit of the Loom brand before and wanted to see how they felt. I ordered them all the same size, then compared them when I received them. Since they were made in different areas of the world, I wanted to see if the people who actually sewed them agreed on what size a 9 is. They do. Both brands were exactly the same size when I placed one on top of the other and smoothed them out flat. After both brands were washed, I did the same thing, and again, they were exactly the same size. I discovered however, that I prefer the Hanes over the Fruit of the Loom. Although Fruit of the Loom's quality is just as good as the Hanes, the Fruit of the Looms felt somehow different when worn. They felt ok, just different; as though they varied slightly in shape going up the backside. In my opinion, the Hanes felt more comfortable, but for someone else, they both may feel the same, or someone else may like the Fruit of the Looms better. It depends, I believe, on the shape of your derriere. In any case, both of these brands are equal in quality, shrink one size down when washed in hot water, and the prints on both brands are equally cute. The solid colors are also nice. The colors are vibrant. Both brands have a double layer of fabric in the crotch. I would highly recommend either brand.
