I am a commercial fisherman of 25 years in AK. I purchased one pair of these socks about ten years ago and wore them one trip. As soon as I got back to town I purchased 20 more pairs. They are the only sock that I wear when fishing in AK or outdoors in Montana (my home state). Fox river, smartwool, wigwam and others do not have a pair of socks that can compete with these socks AT ANY PRICE........and let me tell you, I have worn them all. This is the best sock that money can buy. I have a 10.5 shoe size but purchase the extra large sock. You will probably have to purchase a larger boot to accommodate this sock. It's just the way it is. They are very heavy and plush. Here is what I have learned when wearing this sock; purchase larger boots and also purchase Bama sock outside liners to pull extra moisture away from the sock. Sounds crazy..it isn't. I can put on rubber boots and wear them on deck for 20 hours. When I take off my boots my Bama liners are moist but my socks are dry. BEAUTIFUL. WARM Feet in freezing AK. ALL DAY LONG. Bama socks are manufactured by the Xtratuf boot company. You can google: xtratuf bama sokkets (yes, this is the correct spelling) and get the sock liner that I am talking about. This sock liner actually goes on the outside of the carhartt sock and inside the boot. TRUST ME......THIS COMBINATION WORKS IN THE MOST EXTREME CONDITIONS! It's all about comfort, mobility and safety at ANY temperature.
