Ive had a Nine Stars auto trashcan prior to just purchasing this simplehuman. This simplehuman blows the Nine Stars out of the water in every category. The biggest issue and pet-peave of the Nine Stars I used for past 5 years was that the underside of the lid/top compartment holding the battery faced the inside of the trashcan and would get desgustingly filty and covered with whatever refuse it touched inside the trashbag which would fill in all the exposed nooks and gaps. Cleaning the lid and battery compartment areas was a nightmare. The simplehuman is completely opposite with the battery compartment located on the outside of the can lid and the lid/top are sleek, low profile, and have NO gaps/nooks/crannys for any refuse to get in to and can be easily cleaned with a simple swipe of a handi-wipe....soooooo much easier to clean and no anxiety when battery replacement time comes around. I don't write a lot of reviews for my many purchases on Amazon but decided to for this item as it's a definate 5 stars for me!
