Works well, provided a few requirements.
When I first tried this adapter, I was dissapointed, as it only managed to get speeds of 10 megabits per second and 6 megabits per second. I had read somewhere else that in order for these to work well, they have to be on the same "legs" of the circuit breaker. What that really amounts to is that in order for it to work well, the rooms you have it set up on have to be on the same side of the circuit breaker. Now that I have it located on the same leg, it blew my expectations away. I'm getting internet speeds of 50 megabits per second, which is FASTER than being wired directly to our second router. So, in summary: if you plan to buy this, look at your circuit breaker first. If the rooms you want to connect are located on the same side of the breaker (vertically aligned) you can expect great performance. If they are not, it still might be fast enough if your internet is rather slow. Other relevant things: I had a hard time setting a custom password for the pair. In the end I just gave up because I read somewhere that each adapter has a unique password, and hitting the buttons sorts this out. Speeds are very consistent and reliable. Not noticeable increase in ping, maybe a little ~5ms when on the wrong circuits. -EDIT After having tried different positions with the near adapter, it seems that it doesn't matter which part of the breaker the adapter is on at all. What must have happened is that I initially put the adapter onto an outlet that had it's protective circuit tripped, greatly degrading the signal.
