I read a reveiw by someone which gave me the impression that they beleive the 6mm sodalite is most likely glass beads. I purchased the sodalite any way. I split one in half and inspected both halves with a 10x triplet loupe. I observed platelets of what appeared to be calcium deposits. I saw no air bubbles (indicative of being made of glass). I then tested the beads with my short wave and long wave uv light instrument. The beads have a violet florescence, which, is indicative for sodalite. So, I feel the sodalite beads that I purchased are real. I do believe that they are over polished, but, for the price I will keep and use them for beaded jewelry. I don't care as they look great to the naked eye.
