How to Make this Work for 4B and 4C Hair!!!
If you have hair that looks like cotton with no curl pattern what so ever this is how you get this product to work on your head of hair. I have seen so many sisters put this in their hair soaking wet and instantly poof....they get nice curl definition! I have had this product for about year and I was using it as a leave, I never got any real curl definition but I like the way it smelled and it felt good on this out of control head of hair.
For the first time ever, I got this product to work. I washed my hair with the Come Clean Shampoo (KCK - Product) and I used a deep conditioning treatment LeKair Cholesterol that was mixed with a little Herbal Essence Conditioner, bagged my Afro, and sat under a hood dryer for 15 minutes then a rinse. I used the knot for today on wet hair, and finally curl definition! My conclusion,
for 4B and 4C hair this product needs a good layer of glycerin or something to sit on to work for coarser hair.
This is a difficult product to use but if you can get it to work, you can have some nice curls. I also noticed that if you spritz your hair with water you can get a little snap back curl reformation on second day hair.
I bought the KC Gel, I don't care for it, it is styling gel and I don't like crunchy hair so...pass on that...plus the price is insane, I don't care for it on twist outs either. Try Oyin Whipped Butter, its the only thing that gives you shine, moisture, and no crunch. The jane Carter Solution, nourish and shine is also a pass...if you put it on your hands, and your ashy an hour later...it is not going to do the job on your afro (stay moisturized!)
I hope this helps someone :).
Best,
Lillian
