I almost wanna say this thing works TOO WELL!! I haven't seen a bug zapper since they were super popular in the early 90s when I was a kid, but I vividly remember the zap sound they'd make upon execution. While this item is silent when it's on but not electrocuting anything, the sound it makes on contact is DO LOUD that I literally jumped a few times as I'm not at all use to it!! The zap sounds so intense, it makes me think of "overkill" every time I hear it...like, just a fraction of the force being used would get the job done, but that could just be the way it's made & not due to the current. I don't know, it just sounds like an unnecessarily violent death to me lol it definitely works though! It definitely began attracting bugs the sec I turned it on & within the first 1/2hr of use, I was 1/2 amazed yet 1/2 mortified by the number of dead flying insects this thing had executed for me - so much so, I decided to take a pic to share it & who better to share it w/than you guys?! I also took a video of a bug meeting a very noisy death so you could hear how the room goes from silence to a loud bang - the sound actually reminds me A LOT of those cap guns from the 80s - you'd put those maroon strips inside the gun then once you'd shoot it, you hear a loud pop & the gun would smoke, remember those? If so, that's what it sounds like. So when you're doing something, like reading, as I was when this thing went off at random- it may startle you lol
