Let me first say that I'm a big fan of the Otterbox cases for electronic devices. I've got a few of them and when I purchased the Amazon Fire, I thought that Otterbox would have a case for it and I would certainly purchase it. Case closed, end of story, ( yes, pun intended ---- sorry ) or so I thought. Well, as many of you probably know, Otterbox doesn't make a case for the Fire, nor, as far as I know, do they plan to. ( I wonder why ) So I checked out many of the cases available for the Amazon Fire both online and at local stores but couldn't find one that I was happy with. Then I came across a post on the internet regarding cases and the Gumdrop line of cases was mentioned and given very good reviews. Plus, they had one for the Fire! I checked their website and sure enough, there it was. It looked good. Sturdy, thick rubberized material around the edges and it came with a " plastic (?) " built in screen cover. I ordered it and I'm glad I did. The case is great! I have no fear of dropping the Kindle while it's protected by this case. It's extremely well made and the grooves around the entire case make holding it very secure. It won't slip out of your hand. I'd certainly recommend this case to anyone looking for top-notch protection of their Kindle Fire. I would even go so far as to say that it's in the same league as the famous Otterbox line of cases. I do feel however that the $50.00 price tag for the case is a little too high. Forty dollars or so would probably make this case a better seller. Also, although the all black is nice, a small touch of color ( maybe a stripe around the border ) would add to it's beauty. Again though, all in all, this case is a winner ----hands down! Michael K. UPDATE --- one hour later. I just checked the Gumdrop website and see that they now offer the case in green or blue too. It does however say that those colors are back-ordered until March 2012
