Speechless
Before I jump into the product, I want to call out one very important fact. Purecane is a zero calorie sweetener and should not be compared to sugar. Rather, it should be compared to other zero calorie sweeteners. Having used many of Amazon's bestselling zero calorie sweeteners, and reading the reviews to educate myself, I can say with certainty that many of the 1 or 2 star ratings are those who are comparing it to real sugar. This is about as illogical as buying a bicycle on Amazon and then rating it 1-star because it's not nearly as fast as one's motorcycle. Ok, now to purecane :o) I've used both the purecane baking sweetener and the packets. Both are excellent products. After seeing the family canister in the purecane store, I emailed customer service to find out if it's different from the baking sweetener and the packets. They stated that it's a more Reb-M heavy product meaning that 1 teaspoon from the family canister is the equivalent to 1 tablespoon of the baking sweetener. For all three purecane formulations, Reb-M is the primary ingredient providing sweetness without the bitter aftertaste that you normally get with stevia. Here are my only issues with the other two purcane products: 1) The baking sweetener uses a significant amount of erythritol as a bulking agent so that it can be used in a 1to1 ratio to sugar 2) The packets are much higher in Reb-M, but they're not practical as it becomes tiresome to open packet after packet for your sweetening needs. Having had wonderful experiences with both purecane products, ordering the family canister was an easy decision. I couldn’t have anticipated how much better of a product that the more concentrated formulation would be. I just made a 16 ounce cup of tea using two bags of the TAZO passion tea, my go-to bedtime tea. I normally use a tablespoon of baking sweetener. My wife isn’t a fan as she says that the erythritol gives the baking sweetener a hint of an aftertaste. I presented her with a cup of tea containing a teaspoon from the family canister and she really liked it. As did I. I’m in love. That’s all!
