Almost Pefect
I've been epilating for 1 year with this epilator. I have just ordered a new one, different brand, that has a light and claims to be able to get smaller hairs due to a different technique than this epilator. We'll see... That said, this epilator is great on it's own.
Advice for new epilator owners:
1)Shower & exfoliate prior to use.
2)VERY, VERY important. Put baby powder wherever you plan on epilating. It allows the epilator to grab the hair better.
3) It's going to hurt the first few times. Let me repeat; it's ging to hurt the first few times. HOWEVER, it will quit hurting after 3-4 epilations. I use it for legs, thighs, bikini, pits and chin. It hurt in all of those places except my chin when I first used, but honestly, I am now so desensitized, I don't even feel it at all. Zero pain.
4)After use, apply Dove deodorant to the areas that you epilated. Yes, even thighs! Apply again the next day. You can also apply some more baby powder. Both of these calm the area and quickly take care of redness and irritation.
5) When you first start epilating, it will take several sessions to remove all the hair. Not because it doesn't work, but because your hair will grow at staggered rates. So what doesn't get pulled out today, you can pull out in two days. I would work on the area(s) about every 2 or 3 days for the first 2 to 3 weeks. By the end of 14-21 days, you will have gotten every hair at some point and now you can begin epilating every 4 days - 2 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows. I definitely have to use it at least one time a week.
***Epilating in the shower is NOT as successful as dry.
***Epilating with a cordless epilator could be frustrating because it will lose it's charge in less than an hour. I would suggest a corded epilator.
***Don't use any lotion other than an antibiotic ointment for the occasional ingrown immediately after epilating. This will make the skin angry.
***Best results are from pulling the skin taunt as you go. This makes a big difference.
***Having smooth, light arm pits is addictive! ;)
Hoped all of this helped!
