My boyfriend was having shoulder surgery so we wanted a way to support his computer that didn't require that he hold it. This desk is a little tricky to get in to the right shape (and does require 2 hands to move the legs), but the company provides a helpful guide to the most common positions. That and a little practice helped us get it just right. It feels really well made, solid, but lightweight. The dial-in joints snap in and hold securely. It's wide enough to be able to add a small mouse pad with my 13" laptop. I have also used it to hold up my phone for taking my online yoga class, and I think it would also stand up tall enough to be a lectern if you were giving a presentation. The 2 little fans underneath blow cool air but are pretty quiet. Overall, a very handy and well-made item.
