My previous ice cream scoop snapped at the neck. So I spent some time looking for a new one online. by "some time", I meant an hour. Obviously I did not set out to research an ice cream scoop for a whole hour. But that's what I ended up doing. I was puzzled by this Midnight Scoop when I clicked into the product page. It looked like no other. It looked refined, and appealed to me because of the one-piece design. I imagined that it would be easy to clean. But the price made me think three times before I bought it. I received it today, and used it to great fanfare scooping up ice cream balls. It really is everything folks have been saying here. It feels substantial in my hand, but not too heavy. The handle is very comfortable. The finger grooves made the grip firm. This scoop feels indestructible. I thought the handle would get cold very quickly, but nothing of the sort happened. The scoop is simply luxurious. At three times the average price of a random scoop, it better be. And it works better than any ice cream scoop I've ever used. Updated: some reviews claim that this scoop does not work with small containers, or past the first layers of ice cream from a fresh box. Some even say this scoop fails to deal with corners of rectangular boxes. I don't understand where these comments come from. The scoop is clearly designed to handle corners, and it works in reality. I uploaded a quick video of this tool on a small square ice cream container to show that it works well. It is really ergonomic.
