When I first received the tools, they had a VERY strong plastic-y odor - not something I wanted anywhere near my food! This was a bit unexpected since the listing does mention that the products do not have any odor. Nonetheless, I tried removing the odor a few different ways: the dishwasher, soaking them overnight in water with dish soap, baking soda...no luck. I then tried Wirecutter's method for removing odors from silicone: a nice bake in the oven at 250 degrees Fahrenheit. This did the trick - For about an hour, the smell was STRONG - but the silicone did not melt - which is good, since they are rated up to 600 degrees. After the hour was up, I took the spatulas out and washed them - the smell was gone. So, if yours arrived smelly, toss them in the oven on low. Anyway - on to the product - I find them to be excellent. The color is even across all the spatulas, and they have just the right amount of flex and structure. And from a food safety standpoint, I like that these are all one piece and cannot be disassembled. Overall, I'm satisfied with these products - but I'm also surprised that they smelled so bad.
