I bought these for my family for a trip to Turks and Caicos. My wife and I put the fins on and found them to very uncomfortable (chafing our ankles and toes). Soon we figured out they are shipped with a semi rigid insert that needs to be removed and thrown away before using them. Of course they don't come with instructions or any literature so we just put them on. We had a good laugh. After that, they worked great. I compared them to some US Divers that our guide let us borrow. The US divers fins were 4 inches longer which made a small difference in speed but they weren't as comfortable. My 20 year old son thought the US Divers brand was worse and didn't notice the speed difference. Also, when we first used them we noticed the goggles seemed to fog a lot. I asked a dive shop if they had defog juice. They asked if the goggles were new. I said yes and was told that new goggles fog a lot and need to be cleaned with toothpaste first to remove the deposits from the manufacturing process. We rubbed toothpaste on the inside and outside then washed the goggles off. Huge difference from then on. Learn something new every day.
