Lined up the crank balancer at TDC mark, made sure rotor under old cap was pointing to #1 cylinder, removed old distributor, and put this new one in place (use the rigid hold down clamp included). Fired right back up and had no timing problems!!! The rigid hold down fastener (clamp) holds distributor base in correct position, so don't attempt to use old "C" type clamp from old distributor....
