I've bought 3 pairs...the black, leopard and caramel color...by far my fav boots. I am military and spend a lot of time in boots so in my off time I really want comfort but 'dressy'. For shoe with heeled I am consistently an 8 but for these I had to go down a half size. They were instantly comfortable however I did put 'foot pedals' in them for added comfort and their is virtally no insoles. Definitely if your shopping for these on Amazon you would have noticed there are different manufacturers ....this makes for slight differences. I have 2 pair from Forever and the leopard from Bellamarie. I believe the ones from Forever are more true to size.....and could have been comfortable in 8 but in Bellamarie the 8 was just too big, my foot 'slipped' and had to send boots back for 1/2 size smaller. With Bellamarie manufacturered boots there was a slight odor but the ones I had to send back for size were individually wrapped. When taken out of plastic bag the smell was more pronounced. I had no issues with glue over flow or any imperfections. With the Forever boots I have no squeaking and no 'heel tap' sounds like I do with my leopard Bellamarie boots. Its a 'click'' tap sound I liken to the sound of a tap shoe...oddish but its just a sound so I don't care. I live in Alaska and I had no problem with traction or wet soles and transititioning from outside to indoors. My recommendation is Forever manufacturer...no impections, no odd 'shoe' sounds, slight insole, true to your normal size. My boots are size 7 1/2 in pics....
