Homemade grow lights
My intended use for these is different than most. I looked at all kinds of grow lights and decided to make my own. As others have said, the brackets that hold them up are super cheap. For that I give a one star deduction. They are so bright my camera had a hard time focusing. I think they will make good grow lights for getting my garden started. I'll be sprouting things like squash, melons, cabbage and various other veggies and flowers. I don't think these will take a plant through a grow cycle from start to harvest, but I guarantee it's bright enough to keep the plants thriving until I transplant them in 6 weeks. I will post an update in the future after my seeds are sprouted and plants are established. Update: I've had the lights for over a year now. Unfortunately they did not work well for a grow light as I had intended. The plants did not like this spectrum of light. Im guessing that the spectrum was too narrow. The plants were weak and not a vibrant green as they should have been. I would not recommend these as grow lights. However they are still a good value for the price. I still give them a 4-5 stars for value and I use them in my garage now. Be aware that 6500k is a very harsh and glaring color temp. Something in the 4500 range will be much more pleasing to the eyes.
