If you like series romances that feature unbreakable friendship bonds, men who know what they want and aren't afraid to go for it and commit to it when they do, and women who love their strong men but also want to stand on their own two feet, then this will be a great book for you! Slight spoilers ahead, I guess.... Zac and Annie's story is full of suspense, heartbreak, and tenderness. Annie Griffin returns to her hometown after her divorce, and she is broke and sad. Zac is the last person she wants to see, thanks to something that happened between them before she left. They meet and Zac is left trying to figure out why Annie wants nothing to do with him. Zac is a truly decent guy, that much is obvious right from the start, surrounded by other truly decent men as friends, so it doesn't take him long to figure it out and try to make things right. I adored Annie and thought that her character was very well written and true to life. Janie Crouch does a great job showing us the relationships between Annie, Zac, and Becky and how it all fit together, and then did another great job showing us how Zac and Annie moved past their pasts to come together. I personally love series where there is a group of men who have tight bonds and help each other work through their issues and deal with whatever life throws their way. Strong female friendships are important, too, but the bonding between men who aspire to step up and do the right thing is something that touches my heart. This book and the rest of the series fit the bill completely. I highly recommend Cyclone and the rest of the series books as well!
