I wanted to post some tips to help others avoid wasting time. This has worked fine for me for payroll, but you can save a lot of headache if you know the easy way to update your subscription every year. I buy this bundle from Amazon every year mainly because it is nearly half the price of letting the auto-renewal from Intuit charge another year of payroll service, plus you get the free newest year software update for quickbooks. The main frustration of doing it this way is that I usually have had to call to get them to cancel the auto-renew and replace my subscription with the new license and product number from the Amazon purchase. This isn't too bad of a process if you get someone knowledgeable, but you can also do it yourself and save an hour or two on the phone. To do it yourself (do this before it has auto-renewed, or you will need to call and cancel get a pro-rated refund), remove activation key under Employees -> My Payroll Service -> Manage Service Keys -> Remove. After you've done that it should give you the option to "install payroll from box" or something similar. You enter the license number and product number from the Amazon purchase and it should validate and you are good for another year. Also, don't forget to install the newest quickbooks software before doing the payroll activation above. I had issues with the download being corrupt until I turned off Windows Defender, so try turning off anti-virus if you get an error upon running the installer for quickbooks.
