After a few test runs on carpet I decided to give it a try at the lake, but it sunk to the bottom
I'm not sure what kind of scam these people are pulling, but this thing does not float without modification. As soon as I set it in the water the rowing machine sunk to the bottom. This is 100% a bait and switch. Rather than returning it, I instead purchased 50 foam pool noodles and secured them to the rowing machine in order to add the necessary buoyancy required for floatation. I also found that there was little movement as I row row rowed my rowing machine gently down the stream. As such I had to also add a small outboard motor to make it fully functional.
I hope the manufacturer of this machine reads this and forwards this review to their engineering department so that appropriate modifications can be made at manufacture instead of relying on customers to make aftermarket additions just to get a functional product.
