This regular set is made of cheap soft plastic. It being soft is actually an advantage as you don't have to worry about knocking it over and breaking it.
The chess pieces in this set are VERY LIGHT, you decide if you like it being light or not.
Is it worth the price? Yes, I think so. Because it is sure to thrill an HP fan! Provided they haven't seen the deluxe version yet.
The deluxe version, on the other hand, is at a whole different level when it comes to quality, but that cost a lot more money. (see picture for the difference between the two versions).
