I bought this for my elderly mother. She is a bit short, so her short thighs make it impossible for her to sit on a sofa with her back side all the way back. As a result, she was always slouching. This "pillow" corrects that issue by taking up the slack. Actually, it over corrected the problem and I had to remove some foam. That's a great feature! The armrests are somewhat large (remember, I'm using it on a couch, not a bad), so it takes up a disproportionate amount of space. I need to experiment with removing foam there as well. The only negative I can think of is that I wish the opening to access the foam was a couple inches larger. Otherwise is a great backrest and I'm glad I found it!
