Good keyboard, well designed
I just got this keyboard and had to give a quick review. When I originally purchased my iPad nearly a year ago, I didn't think I'd want or need a keyboard. Now I can see a number of uses for a keyboard, but I didn't want to pay a lot for a mediocre product. I found this product and thought it would work well for me. Overall, I'm very pleased with the it. There are a few minor challenges that prevent it from receiving 5/5 stars although the challenges are not show-stoppers. The keyboard cost less than $40 which is a lot less than most comparable products. And, it has the one feature I think all similar products should have, i.e., the auto-off/lock feature when the product is closed. I've only had my case for a day and I am getting used to the small size of the keyboard. I'm finding that the more I type, the better my typing gets. In fact, I typed this entire review using this keyboard rather quickly and I am not a good typist. Here's a list of challenges (or cons) and pros from my perspective: CHALLENGES: - Design isn't perfect. Leather is a but warped and is not cut perfectly straight around the keyboard. - Doesn't have a cut out for the Apple logo on the back of the iPad like other cases. - Instructions could be better. Some keys are not explained. Some of the pictures are unclear. And some of the explanations could have more wording. PROS: - Paired easily with my iPad in seconds. I didn't need the instructions. - Magnetic strip holds keyboard in place well. Keyboard can also be removed for convenience OR if you want to use the iPad in portrait mode. - Auto off magnet on keyboard turns the iPad off when closed. - Charging receptacle is the same as the one used by the iPad so very compatible - Strap holds everything closed in place well.
