Coffee for grandma - Easy, good price and beautiful
My review is slanted toward ease of use. Got this for a 72 year old woman. What I like about this.
- buttons are bright and simple.
- without putting a k-cup in and just pressing a cup size, you get hot water for tea.
- even the front shows water level (blue line see photos) if unit is in a tight space.
- back has clear water holder and can easily open cap (see photo) and fill tank without removing and trying to put back a clumsy fitting tank (like other machines). Elderly woman uses filtered water from a Brita pitcher.
- tank is very generous and can do many coffees before refilling. A minus for OTHER machines where you may not know if the machine is working, out of water or need to refill everyday so it's not used.
- easy to clean, like that the drip tray pops out and all materials are one wipe clean
- no stupid clocks or other digital devices that in my humble opinion should NOT be on a coffee maker
- THE on/off switch!!! Don't know why the OTHER machines don't all have this feature. Just for safety reason's and an elderly person, kids etc, I like being able to turn something off and have it not in function mode
- there was a 5% coupon and the price was excellent.
- The OTHER machines are UGLY. They have shown no improvement in design, they just add more gimmicks that don't work, are frankly expensive and you'll never use on a daily basis.
- finally as a designer, I like the logo! The entire unit out the box is smaller and more compact, feels very European, looks better in person. I believe the machine is branded under some other names but the logo and price sold me on the Mueller.
- oh and forgot one small detail...makes excellent cup of coffee. I use both the cup's pictured. I like using the old style plastic cup for TJMAXX finds (yes I'm cheap) and the mesh cups I get on amazon.
- Minus: because any review should have a minus. If your expecting super high end for below $100 then manage your expectations. Most of the machine is plastic, this is not a $1000 brass Italian maker with an eagle on top. So the chrome bits are nicely done plastic parts.
Conclusion: Highly recommend :)
