I had a tough pack-only hike in some fairly extreme weather (Bataan Death march in April) - I needed gear that could withstand the abuse and keep me cool in the heat and humidity. I tried 3 brands of pants - these Clothin, a pair of Colombia, an a pair of Magcomsen. When I tested, the Colombia pants did not fit well at ALL (way too tight in the thighs) so those were out, which left just the Clothin and the Magcomsen. When the Magcomsen failed spectacularly mid-hike, I was left with only one pair of pants for the remaining 11 days of my trip - the Clothins. It was my extreme good fortune that the Clothins were on BEAST MODE and took everything that I could throw at them both on and off the trail. They held up to abuse, heat, sweat, and best of all, extended use with no wash and were still presentable at a semi-decent restaurant after all of that. Top quality gear. I will be returning.
