We've used a Krups grinder for years and decided to give the Mueller a try and very glad we dd. I think the less powerful motor on the Mueller along with the blade design and shape of the stainless container (bowl) all contribute the the Mueller's ability to produce a very consistent grind without to much fine powder resulting in much less bitterness. It is very easy to know when the grind is complete by just listening to the sound coming from the Mueller. We make 12 cups of coffee each morning in a Cuisinart drip coffee maker which requires 5/8 cup of grounds for our taste. The Mueller makes it easy to grind this quantity of beans. When the grind is complete we simply turn the Mueller upside down and gently tap on the bottom side a couple times then, while inverted, remove the clear plastic lid and pour the ground coffee into the filter. We could not be more pleased with a coffee bean grinder and highly recommend the Mueller.
