We had a flood at our office and the Tripp Lite surge protector was on the floor, so it grounded out and melted completely. But we have not had a single problem with any of the electrical devices that were plugged into it! So I bought another one to replace it and I'll never use any other brand. I only wish they came with shorter cords, as this is a lot of cord to keep under the desk. But we learned a good lesson: try to mount your surge protector instead of leaving them on the floor! UPDATE: We sent the picture of the melted protector to Tripp Lite to thank them for a great product. They responded that we were entitled to a new one under our warranty, and even though we hadn't asked for one and couldn't give them any information on the old one (we had tossed it during the flood cleanup) they sent a brand new one that arrived today! As I said, I'm never buying any other product. This is one company that really stands by its products. Thanks, Tripp Lite.
