I really like this topper. I had recently bought a 5lb 3 inch topper, it was great and well made but the density was just a little too high for me. When I came across this for under 60 dollars I went for it. I put it on my 5lb density topper and it is the perfect combo, it made the bed softer but still very supportive. If you are a heavier person I am not sure if this topper will give you the support you need though. As far as the smell, I got a faint lavender scent I think, it wasn't strong or off-putting.
