Easy to use, blends to a smooth consistency
I've been juicing with an Omega juicer for over a year, and I was interested to try the Ninja using the same ingredients I use for juicing to see what the drink it produced would be like (taste, consistency, etc).
The manual gives a brief, half-page description of how to use the unit (fill the jar (but not past the MAX line), screw on the lid, attach it to the unit, and blend in short pulses). After washing the blades and cups, I prepared a blend of fruits and veggies in the same manner as when I juice. I filled the jar with celery, apple, carrot, and spinach (see pic), but when I began blending, the blades just spun without blending. After a few failed attempts to blend, I added some water. That did the trick. After a minute of pulse blending, the mixture was blended to a smooth consistency, though I needed to add more water to make it runny enough to drink.
It was easy to set up and use, fairly easy to clean (the ribs on the walls of the jars make a little hard to wipe inside), and it blended well. I'm very pleased with it.
