At first, I wasn't thrilled with this product because it tilted my laptop at what felt to be such a high angle. However, after using it for a few months, I can say that it works well for my ol' man laptop who overheats constantly and would freeze or restart. Since I've purchased this cooling pad I haven't had that problem once -- even on the occasion that I forget to plug in the pad! It seems that the angle gives enough air space that it assists the computer even without the fans turned on. I saw someone's review that said that you'd have to keep the cooling pad flat or the support legs would pop off. That hasn't been my experience in the least so I'm not sure what they are talking about. It could be that they have altered their design since then since they review was a few years ago. Also, the cooling pad has two little flip up pegs in the front that offer support to your laptop so it doesn't slide down the incline while you are working/typing. It was a bit odd to get used to at first and once n' awhile I do have little indentations on my arms from resting against them but it isn't any big deal and certainly shouldn't be considered a deal breaker for considering a purchase. If you have an old laptop like mine or live in a hot climate, I highly recommend this product.
