I read a lot of the reviews very carefully before buying this, and was, naturally, a little anxious - you know, the reviewer who said her microwave blew up. Plus, I wasn't getting it for me, but for my mostly blind husband. Well, he loves it. Just loves it. He fiddled with the times a bit, and has now found that 45 seconds in our 1200 watt microwave, followed by immediate removal, gives him just what he wants, nice soft juicy yolks. I just bought a second one, in case he wants more eggs - poached eggs, not hard boiled - the poacher will be available. I would imagine something would indeed blow up if you set the timer for ten minutes. In case anybody doesn't know, here is how to hard boil eggs: Put as many as you want in a pan, cover with cold water, turn the heat on high. WHEN THE WATER BOILS, TURN THE HEAT OFF. Leave the eggs alone, go away, do something else. When the water is cool, use the eggs. I've been known to leave them overnight, doesn't matter, just as long as the water is fully cool. This seems to be fool-proof. For perfect poached eggs, get this, it's great. So easy even a blind man can use it.
