Have had this Severin vacuum cleaner for a couple of days, used it once to vacuum the house and already it impresses. To be sure it is lightweight, the motor performs very quietly, its suction is fine. None of these things surprised me because they were mentioned in reviews. What did surprise me were just a couple of really small touches that I noticed immediately and that most seniors would also notice. First: the connectors aren't those horrible little buttons you have push with your old fingers to make the pieces go together. And heaven help us in trying to get the pieces apart so you can store your vacuum. Our old hands and fingers just can't do that anymore. The Severin has a civilized rectangular plate you push with some ease - and presto, things go together. What a relief: I didn't have to call for help to attach the hose pieces. Second: Severin installed a rubberized grommet where the plug recedes so the plug itself doesn't slam into the vaccum case. Having had to replace the frayed plug in my Oreck, I can tell you that chore is no fun. I don't know what else I'm going to find as I continue using my Severin, but I'm already sold on it. I didn't read a single review that even mentioned these features, but I'd bet my hat that other seniors or others with weakened hands/fingers would find this vacuum very beneficial and easy to use.
