We have larger breed dogs, and the large one worked like a dream. Dogs were not leery. The leaf is wide enough for them to get their face in not just the snout. Not too easy to fold out, which made for a stable leaf bowl to hold water. I thought it odd, at first, that when you fold it to closed, the used side is facing out but really its best as you wouldn't want it the other way and it get mildew-y if unattended for a while or you forget it in the truck etc. Bonus, when done, you can return water to the flask the same way you dispensed! That was a pleasant surprise as I wasn't in an area I could drop the water on the ground. Both the stainless steel and silicone are easy to clean. All in all I am pleased.
