So this may seem silly but I bought this to illuminate my face during Zoom meetings. My office is backlit by a large sliding glass door and even with the blinds closed, a lot of light comes through, making my face invisible. I'm fine with that, but my boss "loves to see our faces" so this seemed like a great solution. Without the light I look like an anonymous source who whistleblows in a documentary. With it I'm clearly illuminated. I haven't used it to take pictures with my phone yet, but I have a larger phone (Pixel 2XL) and it was able to fit both horizontally and vertically. I'm trying to get into food photography as well and would like to use for that too.
