If you have bought other freestanding towel holders and been disappointed by the height -- this may well be your answer. This will hold a regular hand towel well off the counter without problem. I previously had 2 that required fingertip towels to look nice - the shorter height left hand towels partially laying on counter top. I hated the idea of having to track down new fingertip towels while plenty of hand towels sat in the linen closet. This holder is also quite well-balanced and does not tip easily.
