So I needed a new mattress, my old mattress was extremely firm (and old). I wanted to try a foam mattress but was worried about the firmness and comfort, especially since it was impossible to check out the mattress before purchasing. And I live in a place where it is very difficult, if not impossible, to return it (the other popular foam mattress company I spoke with would not honor their refund policy because of my location). So I bought this (queen sized) mattress on prime day as it was incredibly cheap and if I didn't like it, I could put it in the guest bedroom. It came in the box and I opened it up and it expanded quite quickly. I felt that the mattress took four or five days to fully firm up, but I slept on it after the first day. My first night was not so good. The edges are not as firm as the middle and so I quickly learned to sleep nearer to the middle. The mattress was certainly not as firm as my old mattress. I sunk in a bit (I am 6"3, 220) but I did not think the "sink" was excessive. The "sink" did make turning over from side to side more difficult. Anyway, as I stated, I did not sleep well for the first night and in fact the next week was pretty bad as well and I was thinking that this was simply not going to work. But I kept using it and now it is much better. I think my old mattress was so firm that the transition was particularly difficult. I actually like the mattress now and am getting restful nights. That being said, I would prefer that the mattress be firmer and the edge support be better. The mattress seems to be well made. I don't remember there being any obnoxious odors after unpacking and if there were, the quickly dissipated. I hope my satisfaction for the mattress continues to improve and that it lasts. I would recommend purchasing this to a friend.
