Our feral cat loves this house. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it is described as suitable for outdoor use. It really is designed for use in a covered area, which we do not have. The first time it rained the inside pad was soaked. I solved the problem easily though by covering the top of the house with a $6 tarp from Home Depot. It stayed dry inside except for one occasion where there was a heavy driving rain. She pretty much stayed in it all last winter. I live in the South so while it gets colder here, we do not have really harsh winters. This was perfect. I took the heated pad out after the weather got warmer and I haven't seen her use it all summer even with all the rain we have had. So, I think it was the heat more than the shelter that she enjoyed. I'll probably be putting the heated pad back inside in the next few weeks as the temperatures start to drop at night. Also, you should be aware that the instructions that come with the product state that it should not be used with an extension cord and the cord is not very long. So, you will need a space for it near an outlet if you are using the heated pad.
