Improvements have been made!!!!
The box, it self, works great. It was an easy set-up and played right out of the box. I recorded a movie on it with no problems but when I looked at the flash drive I saw that it had taken a single movie and turned into 5 or 6 mp4 files. The downloaded software that comes from company also easily loaded. It was my belief that when burning a DVD the software would seamlessly merge the mp4 files and then convert them to standard DVD files typical of what you get when you purchase a DVD movie. Unfortunately this is where the problems started. Sometimes the software would convert the files but they would not be merged together. You would get about 20 minutes of a high quality video that would suddenly stop right where the first mp4 file had stopped. Using your forward or fast forward you could coax the DVD player to start playing the second mp4 file but would also stop at the end of that file. And so on. So, if you wanted to watch your movie you had to watch it in 4 or 5 intervals. Alternately on occasion the software would create a DVD but when I tried to play it on a Sony DVD player I would get this message: Cannot play this disk. I tried it on a Panasonic player and got the same result.
To their credit the people who are trying to sell the Cloner Box tried to help. We must have exchanged over 30 emails. I was constantly sending them the LOG file from the software. However, nothing they suggested worked. In fact, most of what they suggested I had already tried. So, I am not sure they really have a grasp of their product and expecially of their software. After I had ruined about 25 DVD disks I decided to send the box back to the tune of $16.75 (After all, it is not cheap to send something to China). In the email they sent me they said they would cover return shipping. Time will tell. If the refund does not come through at least I have Amazon to complain to and at that time I will update this review. Hope this helps!
One last thing, I really had high hopes for this product. It looked like exactly what I was looking for. Rather than being forced to use componet cables all you used were an HDMI cable. <sigh>
The refund for the return came back in a timely manner. Both the cost of the Cloner Box and shipping charges were refunded to my account. In addition to the refund I received a message from the person I had worked with to try to solve the problems mentioned above. She stated that the company has come up with a firmware update for the Cloner Box that will solve the problems mentioned earlier. Here is a part of the message she sent me: For the playback problem you mentioned, we have uploaded a new firmware. The new firmawre makes one file into NTFS USB drive directly now, and it won't stop during playback any more. HDMI-Cloner Box Firmware:

This suggests I should up the number of stars I have given this product but as I have not tried the improved Cloner Box I am reluctant to do so. I have tried another option, a PVR2, but it is giving me more problems than the Cloner Box. The PVR2 seems to be designed primarily for video games rather than videos in general. I suspect I will be returning the PVR2 and probably giving Cloner Box a second try. I will keep you updated if I do so.
I had hoped to write a new review but Amazon doesn't permit that. So, here is an update to the review above. This review is dated 6/29/15.
I tried a different PVR but had all kinds of problems with it. As I had received an email from Cloner Alliance saying they had fixed the previous problems I had experienced I decided to reorder HDMI-Cloner Box. I also downloaded their new version of Cloner Helper. Once again it was an easy set up. I also reformated my flash drive from FAT32 to NTFS (Very Important). I gave the box its first trial making a copy of one of my DVD's. The Box worked flawlessly. Instead of breaking the movie into 4 or 5 mp4 files it produced only one file which eliminated the need to merge files. The newer Cloner Helper took the one file and created a DVD that was a perfect copy of the one I played. I tried several other copies and the device worked great. The bottom line is that I am very pleased and now recommend Cloner Box
