I really like the creaminess of these watercolor pencils, so much so that I am tempted to use them as regular colored pencils. If a lead breaks, I save the chunk and dissolve it in water to use like a cake. I think the color selection is good, but I think there are too many blues (7 to be exact) and greens (6 or them). I would prefer maybe another warm and cool grey, but that's me. I actually turned to these instead of alcohol markers (like copics) because you can simply use water to blend them out, plus they are much cheaper. My only complaint, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the problem with the wood. It is not a huge problem, but it does sometimes split when sharpened. Also, it should be noted that the 36 set of watercolor pencils vs. the 36 set of colored pencils do not have the same colors. I have included a picture of them swatched along with a comparison to the colored pencil set.
