I installed this myself over this past winter and had no issues. My Ecobee thermostat has built-in humidifier support so I hooked that up instead of using the included manual control. Also based upon the other reviews, I chose not to use the included saddle valve and instead soldered a tee onto the hot water line. One thing that I do want to point out that wasn't immediately clear to me before buying is that if you need to install the unit with the pipe existing out the right side instead of the left side as is shown in the picture, the whole unit is fully reversible and even the Aprilaire logo can be flipped around so that it is right-side-up.
