better than expected...........
I have worn $5000 hearing aids for several years, but I wanted something less expensive to wear on the golf course in case I lost one. These are excellent and work better than I expected. They are smaller than I imagined, even from the pictures. The volume control is very good; I only need a setting of 4 out of 10. The 4 built in programs give a nice variety of sound. The sound quality is a bit harsher than the $5000 aids, but that is not all bad. With all aids, there is a balance between harshness and clarity. The harsher the sound, the clearer the sound. Comparing the $5000 aids with these, I rate the $5000 ones better, but not by much. Don't be fooled by all that talk about "programming your hearing aids". It's mostly marketing baloney, to try to justify the cost. The Doctor and audiologist involved in selling the high price aids are making a fortune. As I said, the time involved in programming the aids is mostly smoke and mirrors. I actually asked if I could have the program to put on my computer, so I could play with programming them, rather than all the trips to the audiologist. The request was denied. (of course) If you need hearing aids but don't have $5000, I recommend these highly. You won't be disappointed.
