Expensive I Know but worth every penny!
Expensive I know but worth every penny!
I hope to write a review that will answer some questions that a lot of people seem to have as well as explain why this is one awesome product. This one product will replace 3 separate products. I have a fan that we get out for summer then put it up & get out the portable heater all the while running a HEPA filtration system.
In comes Dyson with a brilliant idea that not only works exceptionally well but looks good doing it.
Now Dyson advertises this as "Pure Hot + Cool Link".
Although it will heat the air it most definitely will not cool it. If you put it in a 90 degree room then it will circulate 90 degree air. Now it will feel cooler simply because of moving air. There is no cooling mechanism inside.
This is not a knock on the product but just to clear up some confusion.
There are 2 versions of this, one is the "Pure Hot + Cool" no wifi & the "Pure Hot + Cool Link with wifi. If it has the word link then it is wifi enabled. I personally own 2 of these. Dyson does a terrible job describing the features. I struggled with which to buy as I thought you only linked to the app for information such as air quality,
Humidity, temperature etc. Being as I'm upgrading to a smart home slowly one piece at a time I pulled the trigger on the wifi enabled one. Wow I am so glad I did because the wifi one very easily links to the Dyson app
& then a whole new world of control opens up.
Through the app you get a very robust scheduling choice that you can literally set every aspect of the unit.
Also you gain the ability to use Alexa by enabling the Dyson skill. You can also control every function through the app. Yes it does come with a IR remote meaning it only works line of sight. With the app via wifi you can turn unit on or off from anywhere not just at home.
The unit is designed for rooms up to 300 Sq ft.
It uses a very high quality HEPA filter which has to be changed once per year based on 12 hrs per day.
When using the wifi version in the app it begins counting down from 4900 hours & will alert you when to change.
This is the replacement filter you will need.
Dyson Desk Air Purifier Replacement HEPA Filter (2nd Generation)
Part No. 968125-03
When you connect it to wifi be sure you connect it to the 2.4 ghz band if you have dual band router as it is not compatible with the 5 ghz band.
With that being said they connected very easy with simple to follow instructions.
I am beyond satisfied with this product & would without hesitation recommend it.
