★★★★☆
Short but Fun and full of Mystery
The puzzles were unique and interesting
An actual story was sprinkled throughout the game
The graphics were clean and attractive with little details here and there
And the gameplay was mostly smooth, minus the occasional reluctance to zoom in where I wanted it or out when I wanted to leave, but only occasionally.
I kind of wish there had been more of an introduction for your character and his/her relationship with the letter sender, but given how the game ended it could be in either of the following ones. I love how there was just enough information the keep you going but never so much as to answer all your questions at once, and then adding a new question on top of an answered one.
The hints in the top right corner always being there felt kind of hand-holding, but I will admit that I turned to it at least once or twice in my playthrough. It would have been nice to earn the hints instead though in my opinion.
When I finished it I handed it to my younger sister and she too enjoyed the game. By the end of it we were interested in solving the mystery and ready to play the next game in the series. Up until now I had played escape games, but the quality and length of the puzzles in this game outshine those by a fair margin, plus I like boxes. I enjoyed it and am glad I tried it. Without Amazon underground I probably wouldn't have found it otherwise. :)
